Weather permitting, the 2010 dirt track racing season begins for GSP Video this Sunday at the Big Diamond Raceway for a special Big Block Modified and ARDC Midget doubleheader.
Starting with this event and for the remainder of the year, we plan on using YouTube to host the majority of our weekly race highlights. There’s been pros and cons while considering this over the past couple years, but these are the major benefits:
- Ability to view videos on more than just a computer. Many new mobile devices, set-top players, and TVs now support viewing of YouTube videos. Particularly, this makes GSPVIDEO.com content compatible with the iPhone.
- Embedding on other sites. Fans, teams, drivers, sponsors, promoters, media outlets, and others can now place our highlights directly on their web sites, blogs, Facebook, and other social networking services. (We kindly request a courtesy link, next to the video player, back to GSPVIDEO.com if you choose to take advantage of this)
While the weekly race video highlights will be hosted by YouTube, some other special content in the works will only be available on GSPVIDEO.com.
Plans for 2010 remain the same as recent years. Covering all the events as the official track videographer at Grandview Speedway and Big Diamond Raceway, followed again by some off-season enduros and winter indoor races. Plans are to be back again at Brett Deyo’s Short Track SuperNationals at Five Mile Point in October along with the two Super Summer Series midweek events at Penn Can Speedway.

In fact, B and C mains finals finished just before the rain. How unlucky to the A main racers. We quite understand their feelings. If you carefully the title of the race, it is about vengeance, payback time or whatever it supposed to mean. For us, bragging rights. Looking at the result, based on the qualifying rounds, top 5 racers are all from different team. Led by Team Serpent KS Chu [our soon-to-be sponsored racer ;) ], Team Hotbodies which were very strong with many members in the race, Team Yokomo led by the senior Ah Ket, Jason Shim Serpent GP driver converted and at no.5 Abdullah with his faithful Tamiya TRF 415. All looking for that elusive champion of the champion title.
To be fair, the only brushed motor driver is Ah ket with his Yokomo car among all the top ten. How cool is that? 7T brushed motor fighting for dear life against the lightning fast 3.5T brushless.
